Missouri City business takes advantage of incentive program | Fort Bend Economic Development Council

The offices of Raymond W. Howard are getting a face-lift due to a facade improvement incentive program with Missouri City.

The Missouri City Council approved the application in a unanimous decision Dec. 5 during its regular meeting, putting the revitalization program to use after it was implemented in November 2021. The program allows established businesses to receive up to a 75% reimbursement of costs associated with restoration and facade improvements. In the case of Raymond W. Howard, the business plans to receive new signage, repair its parking lot, update the landscaping and repair its exit door. All of these improvements together total $86,924.68 with a total reimbursement of $65,193.51.

The incentive program was created in November 2021 after Missouri City City Council agreed to set aside $1.5 million for improvements along Texas Parkway and Cartwright Road, the two major thoroughfares that lead motorists through Missouri City.

Each applicant can be reimbursed as much as $200,000 for projects that are consistent with the city’s adopted architectural and site design standards.
