Real estate trend website Opendoor has released its annual list of the top 10 neighborhoods in the U.S., and a Katy ZIP code made the cut.
The study, released Jan. 5, ranked ZIP code 77494 as the No. 3 neighborhood in the country.
The top ZIP codes were identified by analyzing data from local multiple listing services. The ZIP codes were ranked by total homes that went into contract within 90 days of listing in 2022.
There are currently more than 190 active single-family homes for sale in the 77494 ZIP code, according to data from Houston Association of Realtors. The most expensive home is listed at $2.7 million, and the least expensive is listed at $272,990.
Home prices in 77494 were up 10 percent from May to June of this 2022, according to the MLS.
Compared to May of 2021, the average number of days a house will wait on the market is down by 20 percent. Area homes can be expected to sit on the market for an average of 12 days, the MLS shows.
The No.1 spot on Opendoor’s list was ZIP code 37042 in Clarksville, Tennessee. Half of the top 10 cities are located in Texas.
