Fort Bend County recently announced expansion projects for two of the county's major employers. Together, these expansion projects account for $27.5 million in capital investment in the Sugar Land Business Park and add 192 new jobs to the county's growing workforce, retaining almost 700 jobs.

Accredo Packaging Inc.

Accredo Packaging Inc. is a privately-owned,  multi-national manufacturing enterprise, manufacturing sustainable flexible packing and high barrier film solutions for a wide range of products.  Accredo came to Fort Bend County in 2009 in the Sugar Land Business Park.

The company’s modern and innovative facilities reflect its products and values, utilizing 100% wind-generated electrical power as well as processes designed to eliminate waste and minimize carbon footprint.

Accredo Packaging Inc. has already expanded their footprint in Fort Bend three times and is now adding a fourth, $9.5 million expansion, adding and retaining jobs, which will make them one of the largest employers in the county. The fourth building will be 80,000 square feet and bring 30 new jobs to the county, adding to their 525 jobs already on campus.

Bluebonnet Nutrition

The building is now underway for Bluebonnet Nutrition's third expansion in the Sugar Land Business Park. Bluebonnet Nutrition is a thirty-year-old company that manufactures and distributes dietary supplements. The family-owned company sells products in health and natural food stores through the United States, Europe, and Asia, including retailers like Whole Foods Market.

The company has invested an additional $18 million to add a third,128,000 square foot building to Sugar Land. This new expansion is set to bring 162 new jobs to Fort Bend County.

Fort Bend County is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. Since 2000, Fort Bend has almost tripled in population and is expected to reach 1 million people in the next several years. Fort Bend has focused on supporting sustainable growth to ensure that the community has access to high quality programs and infrastructure. At nearly 900 square miles, Fort Bend leads the region in the quality of our master planned communities, level of educational attainment, population diversity, median household income, and purchasing power.
