Active Education Pipeline
In Fort Bend, workforce development is training-centric, and therefore, industry works closely with the education community to keep the workforce responsive to changing industry needs. Technical State Technical College, a skilled training program in Rosenberg, collaborates with Accredo Packing Company in Sugar Land to provide targeted training that supports their growing industry.
The University of Houston College of Technology, in collaboration with the leadership team at Heavy Construction Systems Management (HCSS), a software development company, has developed a new certificate program for engineers. This program provides students with a competitive advantage and addresses the constantly evolving needs of local technology companies. Fort Bend ISD has launched the new district-wide Career and Technology Center to provide more CTE training and opportunities at the high school level, which can transition to the workforce after graduation.
